2012 Highlights

POLICY
2012– AB 1521 Allowed school districts with Dual Language Immersion programs to assess students in their primary language at the district’s expense.
2012– AB 1719 Established a process for reviewing and approving supplemental instructional materials aligned to the revised ELD standards and required the California Department of Education to ensure alignment with the CCSS math content.

PROGRAMMING
CABE programming focused on the annual conference, paraeducator and parent conferences, parent and family engagement, I3 Grant Implementation focused on parent and family leadership, Project 2 INSPIRE, building partnerships, legislative advocay, and providing support for bilingual programs.
